Savoury spice, mocha and plummy sweetness through the palate. Full flavoured, the tannins are silky and integrated, with sage and black currant characters, framing this more restrained vintage of McLaren Vale Shiraz.

2017 was a year where we had some magnificent rains during spring, so the soil profiles were full to the brim come
budburst. This meant we had a bumper crop year, with a long slow ripening period. A great follow up to the Halliday 95
pointed 2016 vintage.

This is the sixteenth release of our Langtons Classified HJ Reserve Shiraz.
HJ is picked from the very best parcels of old vine Shiraz on the Taranga vineyard– it has been barrel selected and bottle aged for optimum enjoyment. Named after our grandfather Herbert John 'HJ' Oliver, we know he would be very proud of his namesake wine.
